Location
The main campus of Macquarie university is located in North Ryde and MQC is located in the heart of Sydney Wynyard. The first question that might come to you mind must be it doesn't matter, it's all about where you live and how close is it to the place you live and that is the only thing that should be put under consideration. I beg the differ, and in this blog I will convince you otherwise.
Yes I understand it is important that the Uni should be close to where you live, but also consider this, it is much easier to find different options in the city to find transportation to where you live. From experience, studying in North Ryde is a pain in the butt, yes there are transportation to my house from there and if I drive the distance is close from North Ryde than the City. However, Uni schedule is very different to what most people are use to, its very irregular, this meaning sometimes you will have classes very early in the morning, mid day or very late at night. This poses as a very problematic issue, as transportation in North Ryde is not as flexible as the ones you find in the city. When I was in North Ryde I would often take 1-2 hrs to travel one trip, as I would have to transfer to different mode of transport, as there are not much direct methods available.
This is up to you to decide which campus you want to go to, but do keep in mind one thing time in money, do you rather spend you time in ryde campus with nothing much a mall which closes at 6pm or would you rather study in a place where its the heart of Sydney and there are many things to do? While thinking about this do remember that there are a lot of times during the university experience you will have a lot of free time.
